Manager: Hope Gaetani - hgaetani@bu.edu

1. Onboarding Paperwork

Please ensure that you have reviewed, completed, signed, and returned all of the following documents and forms prior to starting

2. Review Event Graduate Admissions Task Resources

Below are links to individual pages outlining the core tasks you’ll be taking on throughout the year. Each link provides all the details, instructions, and context you’ll need to get started. If you ever run into questions or feel like something is missing, please feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!

3. Booking Time

We believe in staying connected! There is no such thing as over communicating. Whenever you need help or have a question, feel free to drop your manager an email, or send a message on Microsoft Teams for a quick response.

To help us collaborate and stay on the same page throughout the year, please keep these two required meetings on your radar:

MACROM x GAFAO Events Team Mtg

Once a month, we’ll gather with the broader MARCOM team to review high-level goals and content. It’s a great opportunity to get a full look at upcoming marketing initiatives and see how our event efforts connect with the team's broader strategy.

GAFAO Event Team Catch-Up

With both Events Graduate Assistant roles sharing the same core responsibilities, we’ll meet every two weeks to sync up. This is a dedicated space to go over what’s on everyone’s plates, chat through ongoing projects, and share helpful insights with one another.

4. Your assigned tasks

All tasks that are requested of you will be noted within the GA Task Request Board. There you will find all the information pertaining to said Task including deadlines.

5. Getting to know your space

While this role offers great flexibility to work remotely, you are always welcome in the office as much or as little as you’d like.

Since this office space is shared with all of our Graduate Assistants—including our Interview GAs—desks are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Whether you pop in occasionally for a change of scenery or drop in regularly, the space is here whenever it suits your schedule!

Our office is located on the first floor in suite 101. The GA office space is located next to the Marketing & Events Admin office which is in suite, 101B.

5. Submitting timesheets & receiving payment

Each week, we ask that you stay within 10 hours of work. If you feel that the provided will be over the 10 hours, please communicate that to you manager. If we feel what is being asked of you is over the 10 hours, we will connect ahead of time if the work load seems realistic for you at that time. Please do not exceed 15 Hours in one weeks time.

Student must submit timesheet by EOD Friday of each week via BU Works for supervisors to approve.
