Talking Points

In your role as an admissions ambassador, you will find that prospective students will have many questions about our programs. We wanted to share with you a list of common questions that you can expect ( FT vs. PT) , as well as some of the information the Graduate Admissions Office highlights when speaking with prospective students.

Part-Time

Common Part-Time MBA Questions

Here are some common questions you may encounter, so you can prepare your response in advance

Why did you choose Questrom for your MBA?

What makes Questrom unique, especially given all the MBA programs in the Boston area?

Do you get access to additional resources as a PEMBA student? (academic advising, career advising, etc.)

How has the PEMBA program helped you in your career?

Do you have networking opportunities?

How do you balance work, class, and other responsibilities?

How do you view your return on investment and how do you pay for your degree?

Not too sure what to say?

Please know that we want you to have genuine interactions with all prospective students! Our talking points below are meant to provide you with insight into how the Graduate Admissions Office highlights what makes the Questrom experience unique – not to script how you talk with students. Your experiences will each be different, so these talking points are simply meant to compliment the conversations you have with candidates. We encourage you to use these as a reference, but by no means should you feel the need to cover everything you see below.

  • Tailor Your Degree

Our program allows for a lot of flexibility/choice

Academics: We have specialized MBAs (Social Impact & HSM), many concentration options, and over 100+ Questrom electives to choose from

Track Choice: Flex, cohort, accelerated core – all of which can fit specific student’s needs

  • Culture

Questrom is built on “creating value for the world” and our students embody that mentality. We emphasize teamwork, collaboration, and integrity within an institution that has the resources of a large school but the benefits of a small program.

Learn from each other: we bring together students from so many industries that our students learn as much from one another as they do from our faculty

Faculty: many of our faculty come from industry – this allows them to bring their experience to the classroom, as well as use their networks to connect students with industry leaders

  • Convenience/Location in Boston

We are conveniently located in the city with easy access to public transit and parking

  • Access to Resources

“Part-Time Program, Full-Time Resources”. PEMBAs can get involved in ways that are typically reserved for full-time students at other institution

Courses: PEMBAs and full-time MBA students share electives, which means they have access to the same professors as our full-time students

Advising: can make appointments with academic advisors, as well as career advisors (see more information on career resources above under “Full-Time MBA”).

Clubs/Events: PEMBAs can join any MBA club (along with full-time MBAs), but also have additional events designed just for them (such as PEMBA Speaker & Wine Nights and PEMBA Case Competitions). PEMBAs can also go on international field seminars.

  • Diversity & Inclusions

We believe the more perspectives, the better – we aim to foster an environment where there’s diversity in both thought and culture so that students are surrounded by classmates who inspire them, push them to do better, and who open their eyes to new approaches in business and in life.

  • Funding/Merit Scholarship

We consider all applicants for merit-based scholarship and also have dedicated financial aid staff to discuss ways to finance the degree
