From: Joe Grande Date: September 17 Subject: Grad Club Officer Updates: Exciting Handbook Update & Gmail Access
Hi Grad Club Officers,
A few quick updates to make club life a little easier, including a much-requested improvement to the Club Officer Handbook, next steps for club Gmail access, and an important event planning reminder.
We heard the feedback that the Club Officer Handbook had the information you needed, but finding it wasn’t always easy.
The handbook has now been updated so you can search the full document using Control + F (Command + F on a Mac) to quickly jump to what you’re looking for. Searching “catering,” “25Live,” “funding,” “reimbursement,” or whatever you’re trying to figure out should get you there much faster.
Keep it bookmarked. We’ll continue updating it throughout the year as questions come up and processes change.
Event requests must be submitted at least 4 weeks in advance, especially if your event needs catering, parking passes, facilities, room setup, purchasing, microphones, or other services/support.
This lead time gives us time to secure the ideal spaces, cooridnate with the appropriate teams, and purchase the items you need.
Submitting an event request doesn't automatically mean the event or requested serivces can be accomodated. Requests may need to be adjusted or may not be possible to support, particuallry when they involve catering, facilities, purchasing, or a specific evnet space.
The easiest way to avoid that? Think about all aspects of the event before you submit the event request, then submit it on time. Requests submitted with less notice may have fewer options available, and requests can take up to 5 business days to review.
Thanks for your patience while we worked through some challenges with this year’s grad club email accounts. Central BU IT has confirmed that the phone numbers submitted during club re-registration have been linked to your club Gmail accounts.
If you're not able to log in and/or your phone number is not showing as an authenitcation option in Duo Mobile, it's likely because it is not already enrolled with Duo Mobile on your individual BU account. The phone number must already be activated for Duo Mobile on an individual BU account before it will appear as an authentication option for a club account.
Have Access and Ready to Go?
If you're all set and ready to add other officers, the MBA Center will coordinate with Central BU IT to add them.
Complete this form. Only officers who actually need the account access should complete this.
MBA Center staff will work with Central BU IT to have the additional numbers added by October 1. You can confirm devices have been added through the Manage Devices page when you go to log in.
I know getting these accounts up and running took longer than expected this year. Thanks for hanging in there while we worked through the issues with IT.
