Social Impact Newsletter 8/28/2023

August 28, 2023

Good morning everyone! The best part of the newsletter is the Student Spotlight, which allows us to get to know our classmates better. This week's spotlight is on Rachel Ault, a second year Social Impact FTMBA.

Before pursuing her MBA, Rachel's journey led her to Endeavor, a global media and entertainment company. There, she worked as a paralegal in marketing, advising on projects like the world's largest "Slip N Slide" and increasing access to free menstrual hygiene products. Seeking a decision-making ability in her career, she is pursuing a Social Impact MBA to pivot into a role that works to democratize access to the arts.

This past summer, Rachel interned at Root Capital, a international impact investment nonprofit. On Grants Management team, she learned about grantmaking, philantropic grant structuring, and nonprofit best practices. As a global organization, Rachel was the only one based in the U.S. and her team's global presence - with colleagues based in Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Honduras, and Kenya - allowed her to work with people of diverse backgrounds.

At Questrom, Rachel's active engagement extends across various student events and groups. She is co-president to the Social Impact & Nonprofit Club (SINC) and organized the Social Impact Networking Event (SINE) last spring, which brought Social Impact alumni and professionals in the social impact sector to Questrom to share their career experiences. Rachel is also an active member to the Questrom Jewish Students Association and Women's MBA Association and serves as a Questrom MBA Admissions Ambassador.

Fun Fact: Rachel is an avid reader; this year, she has already read 48 books and aims to read 60 by the end of 2023!
