This panel-style event will feature leaders in sustainability, energy, and green initiatives within higher education and nonprofit sectors. The goal is to challenge the perception that MBA students must work for large corporations to find meaningful roles in sustainability-focused careers. Instead, the discussion will highlight opportunities in both higher education and nonprofit organizations—sectors that operate with unique challenges, including limited capital, but offer significant potential to create community impact.
Panelists will explore how students can transfer their business acumen to roles that require strategic thinking, data analytics, stakeholder engagement, and innovative problem-solving in resource-constrained environments. Additionally, the panelists will share insights into how their identities as Black individuals have shaped their career paths, providing students with inspiration, practical advice, and strategies for overcoming challenges in these industries. The event also aligns with the mission of the Graduate Students of the African Diaspora (GSAD) by promoting representation, awareness, and cultural diversity, while fostering connections between students and BU leadership.
