Did you know that Cohort Cup is the only club that all MBA students are automatically a part of?
In 22-23 school year, we are thrilled that Cohort Cup has expanded to the PEMBA program. Here is how the it works:
When you started your MBA program, you were assigned a cohort name. Every year, students are assigned to those same cohorts, meaning that there are (for example) Newburys who are in their first year, second year, third year, and so forth. Through Cohort Cup, you will all compete together to show your cohort and school pride. Sometimes you'll get points for doing awesome at something (a sports tournament, donating food at the holidays, etc.). Most often, you'll get points simply based on attendance. So, your goal is to show up and have fun together and with the other students - PEMBA and Full-Time alike.
Like any other club, Cohort Cup has a leadership team consisting of a President, VP, and cohort representatives, who together with the MBA Center plan social events - totally separate from academics - that they want to attend.
We are seeking 1-2 representatives from each PEMBA Cohort to represent their cohort. Any student can nominate themselves, but this is a great opportunity for Entering 2022 PEMBAs in particular.
If interested, please reach out to both of us by nextFriday, September 30!
At LAUNCH, students receive a cohort shirt. You'll often want to wear it for Cohort Cup competitions!
If you meet one of these criteria, stop by the MBA Center to pick up a shirt:
You started 20-21 school year and never got a shirt.
You started as Tremont but are now joining Boylston cohort
You started as Storrow but are now joining Newbury cohort
You never received a shirt for a different reason
The MBA Center (416) is open 9AM-6:30 Monday-Thursday, and 9AM-5PM on Fridays.
Current Standings
Following the first all-MBA Cohort Cup event of the year, Lansdowne is in first place. Points were given based on attendance, with Lansdowne having the highest attendance and receiving 4 points.
Which Cohort Am I In?
If you are reading this email, then you are part of Cohort Lansdowne (those who started as flex students their first Fall.)
The Cohort Cup is a club that provides social and competitive events for all students in the FTMBA and PEMBA programs, from sports tournaments to social events to service opportunities and family-friendly outings. Three of our biggest traditions are the annual Halloween PArty, a Springtime Field Day, and the Questrom Revue ("The Revies"), our annual talent show. Most importantly, Cohort Cup builds the community and allows students to get to know their classmates outside of an academic setting.
For the 2022-2023 school year, Cohort Cup events are open to all FTMBA and PEMBA students; however, FTMBA cohorts will compete against each other (Arlington vs. Beacon vs. Congress), while PEMBA cohorts will compete against each other (Newbury vs. Hanover vs. Lansdowne vs. Boylston).
