Closing the wealth gap for underserved communities

The IXLerator Initiative brings together a dynamic community of small businesses, organizations, and individuals who share a common passion for creating social impact. Our ultimate goal is to foster economic growth in underserved communities by promoting innovation, collaboration, and action. We accomplish this by empowering under-resourced entrepreneurs in under-resourced communities, and other underrepresented businesses, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge through cutting-edge accelerator programs. 

Our vision is to eradicate society's wealth gap through economic prosperity.

Highlights of the 2023 Program

P&G and Symetra sponsored 37 childcare providers in 2023 to get a free 5-week training to address concerns such as under-enrollment, inefficient operations, and limited revenue. Each childcare provider received a consulting team and an IXL mentor to design a client-specific plan. This was only feasible because LISC Boston and LISC Greater Newark chose IXL Center as a partner due to its expertise in methodology and program coordination. 

We made a significant difference for those who needed it the most as a team.

Awards & Prizes

Teams will be assessed on Best Digital Solution to Fix Core, Best Action Plan and Best Digital Solution to Grow More. For each of these categories, consulting teams have the chance of winning one of prizes below:

  • 1st Place: Certified Innovation Professional Course
  • 2nd Place: Certified Innovation Associate Course
  • 3rd Place: Certified Innovation Catalyst Course

Pre-Requisites for Applying

  • 3 team members
  • Have a special interest in social impact 
  • Exhibit exemplary leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  • Business and/or Computer Science background
  • Graduate students (undergraduates are encouraged to apply; however, they must be part of the top 10-20% percentile and Seniors)
