We are excited to announce the formation of a Sports Analytics Seminar for the 2019-2020 academic year. This seminar will meet Fridays 3:30pm - 5:30pm, starting October 25th, in Questrom room 324, and will be led by Professor Andy Andres (twitter.com/sabermetrics101). Prof. Andres has taught baseball analytics classes at Tufts and Harvard Extension for many years, and created the edX course Sabermetrics 101 (https://www.edx.org/course/sabermetrics-101-introduction-baseball-bux-sabr101x-0).

The goal of this seminar will be 1) to learn data analytics techniques through examples in sports and 2) prepare students for various case competitions throughout the year. Although no programming experience is technically required, this is a graduate level seminar, meaning we will move quickly through the material, so some basic level programming exposure is suggested.

The seminar is open to all BU-affiliated students (i.e. undergraduate and non-Questrom students are more than welcome), but as previously stated this is a graduate level seminar and will move at such a pace.

For more info, email Cam Stewart (camstew@bu.edu).
